Abdullah Oduro, of Ghanaian descent, was born in Arlington, Texas, and raised in Houston. He converted to Islam in 1997. In 1999, he was accepted into the Islamic University of Al-Madinah in Saudi Arabia, where he earned a degree in Islamic Law. After returning to Houston, Abdullah completed his memorization of the Quran and founded KnewU, a nonprofit supporting converts to Islam. He served as an instructor at Bayyinah Institute and currently is a contributor at Yaqeen Institute. Abdullah also founded MasterMan, an initiative focused on Islamic male excellence (mastermangroup.com). He is the Imam at the Islamic Center of Coppell in Dallas, Texas, where he resides with his wife and four children.
