Shaykh Mohammed Ahmed Faqih traces his roots back to the ancient city of Harar in the Horn of Africa. Originally from Yemen, his forefathers immigrated to East Africa and played a central role in the Islamic history of the region. A specialist in Tazkiyah and Adab and premarital and marital counselling with a Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Fairfax, VA. Shaykh Mohammed graduated in Quran memorization and recitation from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Shaykh Mohamed’s chain in the Quran is 28 shy of the Prophet ﷺ.
He served as the Imam at the Islamic Community Center of Laurel in Laurel, MD, at the Islamic Center of Orange County, CA, and at the Islamic Center of San Diego, CA. He also serves as an instructor at the AlMaghrib Institute teaching courses on Islam internationally.
